“Gashapon”, the second production of Yinalang, continues the spirit of the group’s first production, “The Kitchen”, to explore everyday objects with keen curiosity. It combines light and shadow and puppetry to transform everyday objects into a fascinating fantasy story. Drawing inspiration from the toy-vending machine and its random and unknown features, the story is told through the format of games. The machine dispenses random objects. In a series of attempts to add, destroy, disperse, and assemble, the toys form an image and the images become a story that sparks endless imagination. Where does your imagination take you? While a theater has its capacity limitation, it nevertheless welcomes children to join in and tell the stories of “here and now” with the help of toys and drama.
